MEET THE ARTISAN BEHIND KAJIHARA HAMONO

For more than a centuryblade making has been passed down through the Kajihara family.

Today, Kajihara Hamono continues this tradition as a fourth-generation workshop.

The current craftsman, Yamauchi-san, did not begin his work life as a blacksmith.

Originally an office worker, he entered the world of bladesmithing after marriage and trained under his father-in-law for twenty years.

In 2023he took charge of the workshop, with the belief that good knives should be reliable, practical, and accessible, and that each knife should be hand-forged with a focus on quality and durability.

Watch Kajihara Hamono in action!

“These are not art pieces. They are cooking tools.

I hope you enjoy using them and cooking with them.”

Yamauchi san, blacksmith at Kajihara Hamono

Every blade is made to be used and enjoyed in everyday cooking.
