Takeshi Saji Knives
Takeshi Saji has been forging blades in Echizen, Japan since the 1960s. He is a third-generation blacksmith, a founding member of Takefu Knife Village, and one of a small number of craftspeople officially certified as Dentoukougeishi, Traditional Master Craftsman, by the Japanese government. His knives are not the result of mass-production work. Each one is forged, ground, and finished by hand in a workshop where the standard has not changed in fifty years.
This collection is a single limited batch. Seventeen models across five knife profiles (Petty, Santoku, Bunka, Nakiri, and Gyuto) in three blade steels: R2/SG2 powder stainless (HRC 63), VG-10W stainless (HRC 65), and Aogami Blue #2 carbon steel (HRC 62). With a variety of handles from Black-Brown and Black-Red Corian to brown buffalo horn, ironwood, and hand-lacquered Maki-e.
