The Shirou Kunimitsu Stainless Steel Gyuto Knife is a handcrafted Japanese kitchen knife by Akimitsu Komiya and his family, blacksmiths in charge of the Shirou Kunimitsu workshop in Omuta city, Fukuoka prefecture. This double-edge gyuto knife is crafted in Shirogami No. 1 Steel with stainless steel cladding following the same techniques as used to make Japanese katana swords, another of the workshop's specialties. It features a kurouchi finish with magnolia wood handle.
About the Blade Shape: Often described as the Japanese version of the Western-style chef's knife, double-edged gyuto knives are designed for a wide range of kitchen tasks with a slight emphasis on protein preparation.
