The Shigemitsu Hamono Kurouchi Nakiri Knife 155mm is a handcrafted Japanese vegetable knife forged from Shirogami (White Steel) No.2 by Shigemitsu Hamono in Shimabara, Nagasaki. Designed for precise vegetable preparation, this double-bevel Nakiri features a flat edge profile ideal for clean push cuts and chopping dense produce such as squash and pumpkin.
The blade features a traditional kurouchi finish, which helps with food release while preserving the knife’s rustic character. A lightweight magnolia wood handle provides excellent balance and comfort during extended prep sessions. Each knife is hand-forged, engraved with the maker’s mark, and includes a small sharpening stone for ongoing maintenance.
