Indigo Blue Hand-dyed Bento Box
The hand-dyed Indigo Blue bento box is made by Chizu Blue, located in Chizu Town (Tottori prefecture), known as the “town of cedars” for its famous cedar forests. Each box is carefully crafted from local cedar wood praised for its beautiful white-and-blue color contrast and superior quality. Every piece is finished by hand, and the contrast of natural wood and indigo gives this bento box a unique, stylish look.
Chizu Blue is a cooperative founded by local women who preserve Chizu’s traditional dyeing techniques. The cooperative grows and harvests indigo themselves, ensuring their products are gentle on people and the environment and safe to use. The cedar wood is known for its moisture-absorbing, deodorizing, and antibacterial properties, so the box offers a practical and, at the same time, authentic Japanese dining experience.
