About the Craftsman
Founded in 1975, Nenohi operates a retail shop in Tokyo’s Tsukiji district, with its headquarters, research and development, and factory based in Kanagawa. Its collection includes traditional Japanese knives, hon-yaki and all-steel constructions, as well as Western-style blades. The renowned NENOX S stainless series is prized for its keen edge and dependable everyday performance.
Each knife is handcrafted in small batches—about ten pieces per day—with specialists overseeing every step, from heat treatment to geometry inspection, ensuring uniform quality and precision. Nenohi’s knives are trusted by professional chefs in Japan and around the world, with distribution in markets including the United States, the Netherlands, and Korea.
