Nakiri Knife

$129.99

Includes:

  • Kurouchi 'Nakiri' Kitchen Knife (handcrafted from steel, 17cm blade length, 180g weight)
  • Red Sharpening Stone (15cm x 4cm x 3cm)
  • FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING

This is a handcrafted double bevel knife made of Aogami No.2 steel and soft iron. It was crafted with traditional "Hon-Warikomi" technique at the Nakamura Hamono smithy in Oita Prefecture.
Nakiri knives are great for cutting any vegetables - including hard ones such as pumpkin.
It has a Sakura wood handle, and the blade is engraved with the signature of the smithy. The pack includes a small whetstone you can use to keep your blade clean and sharp.

*Since each knife is crafted by hand, weight and dimensions might slightly vary for each knife. We ask for your kind understanding.

*Depending on the number of orders and the smithy's situation, shipping the knife out might take up to 3 weeks.

*The knife is made from steel, so there will be a certain amount of rusting over time. Use the included sharpening stone to get rid of the rust. Find an explanation video on knife sharpening on the bottom of this page.

* Depending on the value of your order and local import rules of your country, there might be additional import taxes you have to pay upon arrival of the package.

Nakiri

Love the knife! Beautiful craftsmanship and proud to own and show it off! Would definitely by another one! The only thing I could say negative is that it could be a little sharper out of the box! After a good sharpening it's very nice to use! I recommend!

Dear Toby Queen,

Thanks so much for the review, and happy to hear you are enjoying your knife! Sorry to hear that it needed a little sharpening, but we are glad that it is working well for you now that it is nice and sharpened!
We hope you'll have many chances to create delicious dishes with it.

Nakiri and thin blade small deba knife

I received the knives in a timely fashion and am extremely pleased with them. These are the second and third knives I have purchased from Nakamura-san and I love the knives. They are not for display, but for daily use and the are super sharp. I just finished thinly slicing onions for a dish we are making and the nakiri is so comfortable to use. It makes me feel like my knife skills are better, but it is just the knife. Thank you Nakamura Hamono for your dedication to your craft and your customers. Best wishes for the future.
