In Hashima City, Gifu Prefecture, Swordsmith and head of the Asano smithy Fusataro works with two young talented apprentices in continuing the centuries old tradition of forging swords and knives.
Fusataro nurtures a unique bond with his apprentices, not drawing a deep line between student and teacher, but working as equals, he strives to enable his apprentices to surpass him someday.
The masters main ambition is combining tradition with progress, traveling the world exchanging information with international smiths, curators and researchers. Sharing his knowledge, he is trying to find ways to bring change to a centuries old craft to ensure its survival in the future.

How To Sharpen Your Knife
Caring for your knife will make it last you for decades. After using the knife, wash it with clean water, remove water, and place it in newspaper to prevent rusting. Check out the video below for more information on how to sharpen and store your knife! (The sharpening stone in the video has a different colors than the one included in the pack, but this has no effect on the process or quality of the sharpening).
