I received my knife, but the tip of the knife was bending

Thank you for your purchase and for your review! Thank you also for your feedback - thin knives made from soft iron in this price range (so on the less expensive side of the spectrum) tend to have blades that are thin and easily bendable. The knife nevertheless has a strong steel core (white steel Shirogami #2).
Traditional handcrafted Japanese kitchen knives will certainly be very different from the commercial stainless steel knives many of us are used to, and require a little bit of TLC and time to get used to. For example, it is important to remember that these knives are strong against vertical impact, but weak against horizontal force, so take care to protect it from horizontal impact. Thank you for contacting us! We have tried to get in touch with you via email (perhaps it was sent to your spam folder), but your package was returned to us by Japan Post early this week. Unfortunately, due to the new customs rules in effect in the United States as of August 29, 2025, Japan Post is no longer accepting packages destined for the United States. Your package was shipped before this date but because it did not leave Japan prior to the date Japan Post stopped shipping to the US, the package was returned to our warehouse. We are preparing it for shipment via DHL Express, so it should reach you within a week or two if all goes smoothly. You should also receive a confirmation email with your new tracking number as soon as we have shipped it via DHL.
