Story

Get a One-Of-A-Kind Kitchen Knife That Will Serve You Well for Decades

Minomo Blacksmith was founded 1796, in the small village of Hitoyoshi in the southern part of Japan. The smithy itself has been destroyed several times - by floods and fires - but its traditions have been kept alive through the efforts of the craftsmen and their families. Their unwavering passion for the craft has been going strong for over 200 years.

Three generations of blacksmiths are currently working in the smithy: The granddad and 8th generation Yutaka-san, the dad and 9th generation Minoru-san, and his son and 10th generation Isamu-san. All three work in the smithy every day, hammering, sharpening, and putting their hearts and souls into each and every blade.

Received mine yesterday here in the USA.

Beautiful knife. Very light in the hand for a knife blade 8" in length. A few stokes on the stone made it hair popping sharp. Thank you very much. I love the blade.
