Our Story
Why we share Japan’s craftsmanship with 1.5 million YouTube viewers worldwide
Our channel's journey started in 2020...
Our small team has continuously created videos since 2020 that tell the stories of Japanese food craftsmen and women ever since, visiting restaurants, artisans and small shops all over the country.
But why we began sharing Japan's stories?
During the pandemic, we witnessed neighborhood shops and restaurants closing down. Many long-established restaurants were slowly fading away, due to declining sales or no one taking over the business.
We started to wonder if there was something we could do to help preserving this part of Japan daily life.
What did we do about it?
We started sharing the charm of local restaurants and shops with the whole world.
So people would remember them and maybe visit again.
What began as a small act of help soon became something greater. That’s when our mission truly began.
Our Mission
Our purpose is simple: We want to preserving Japan’s nostalgic sceneries and timeless craftsmanship by sharing the stories and products of those who keep tradition alive.
Each shop has its own color, each craftsman their own rhythm. Together, they form the living fabric of Japan.
Townscapes are shaped by local shops that have been serving their communities for years. These long-established stores are filled with Japanese culture that even locals do no longer know.
But, as more and more of these stores vanish, their color slowly fades. To preserve Japan’s charm, we will continue sharing heir work and stories through our videos and our shop.
We will do our utmost to carry the color and spirit of the nostalgic landscape of Japan into the future.
So what will the future bring?
We hope for Japans nostalgic and beautiful scenery to remain the same, even 100 years from now on.
And we hope that these videos and pieces will give all of you the energy you need for tomorrow.
Help us preserve Japanese culture and craftsmanship. One piece at a time.
And the story continues on YouTube...
Over 1.5 million viewers have joined us in preserving Japan’s culture. Come on and be part of the story:
