Story

Working together to create Blades that last 100 years

In Hashima City, Gifu Prefecture, swordsmith and head of the Asano smithy Fusataro-san works with two young talented apprentices in continuing the centuries-old tradition of forging swords and knives.

Fusataro-san nurtures a unique bond with his apprentices. Without drawing a strict line between student and teacher, he works together with them as equals, in the hopes that they will one day surpass him in skill.

The master's main ambition is combining tradition with progress, traveling the world to exchange information with international smiths, curators and researchers. By sharing his knowledge, he aims to bring change to a centuries-old craft to ensure its survival in the future.
