An long & slim Bunka-style knife designed and crafted by 10th generation Minomo Blacksmith Isamu-san especially for cooking dads. The knife's design was inspired by Japanese traditional "Higo no kami" pocket knives.
Craftsman Isamu-san engraved "Minomo Blacksmith Knife No.8" on the blade, because it is his 8th year of taking over the smithy.

I ordered an engraved knife from Minomo. It took several weeks to arrive but what a pleasure to unwrap it. The packaging is beautiful and the knife is really perfect! I had it engraved with my daughter's name and I got a little thank you note. It is a very beautiful product. It comes with a small sharpening stone.

I saw the video of the Minomo Smithy on YouTube and I was struck by the history of the Smithy and the three generations of the Family working together.
Soon after I decided to start a knife sharpening business, partly inspired by the Minomo Smithy. So I thought it would be perfect to have one of their knives engraved with my business name.
I contacted Mari and at the time asked if I could get the Knife for Fathers specially engraved because it wasn't an option at the time. Mari asked the Smithy if they could engrave the knife for me and they quickly replied that they would be able to engrave the knife. There was a little hiccup in the process of getting the knife and one that I could have lived with, but it was made more than right by Mari and the Minomo Smithy. Long story short, I got my custom engraved knife and it is exactly how I pictured it, plus two more knives. I am very thrilled with how it turned out and cannot thank Mari and the Smithy enough.
The knife itself is very comfortable in the hand, very sharp, and a very good slicer. I couldn't be happier with it.
