This is Mockats
Chizu Town in Tottori Prefecture is 93% covered by forests and mountains. Only in the last 7%, people live huddled together in a small village alongside the river.
Here, Kusakari-san has been running a small woodcrafting workshop for over 10 years. He creates beautiful oval shaped Bento Boxes by bending cedar wood carefully into shape. From choosing the tree for the material to thinly slicing the wood and prepping it, he does most of the work alone. Only his mother sometimes drops by to support him with it.
Cedar wood keeps changing through humidity or heat. Kusakari-san says that the tree keeps on living, even after it has been turned into a Bento Box, slightly changing over many years of use, and the cedar aroma of the wood makes the lunch inside the box even more enjoyable.
